Unmentionables and Horses

A funny bit of Zaney Waney humor from last night... we've had a bit of fun the last few days. We watched Mr. Bean's holiday, and then the kids went to their room to play until bedtime. We were startled to see Zane stroll into the living room in just his underwear. We've been trying to get them to respect each other's privacy, and have been stressing "wearing pants" in the house since they are getting older.

It was tempting to lecture Zane, and order him back into the room to get on some clothes, but something prompted me to ask him, "why" he was in his underroos? Zane shrugged and said nothing, but Bree provided the answer!

Bree: "We were playing horsey, and well, horses don't wear clothes, Mommy! So Zane took off his pajamas."

Zane started giggling and we all lost it! It's easy to put adult meaning on child behavior at times, but sometimes we forget just how LITERAL a four year old's mind truly is! I'm just glad he obviously decided to go ahead and wear human "unmentionable's" in leu of "going bareback"....LOL. Since he thinks that "underwear" is a funny word, his RayRay coined "unmentionables" to save us a little public embarrassment when he gets started with his "oooh...underwear...giggles".

Merry Christmas!

P.S. We went to the theater and saw Alvin & the Chipmunks this week. It was such a cute movie and the children loved dancing to all of the very hip music. I can't wait for the soundtrack to come out. If you get a chance, definately go see it with your children.
