Settling In

Braden has had a big week. While very happy here, he was not so happy when we dropped him off at daycare. He cried for about an hour, and then played alone most of the day. My poor introverted little boy!
We took the kids to the Drive-through Safari, which they loved. We had a Zebra stick his head in the car and we got to feed it and stroke it's neck and mane. We saw several types of animals in the deer family. A huge longhorn with tusks that nearly scraped our car.

We finally got a table - our first new one in 9 years. We've always had a hand-me-down or used one. Not used to dusting it and worrying about kniks but it's nice to have a nicer table. Not sure how long it will stay this pretty so take a good long look. We are still waiting on our mattress to come in, so for now I'm sleeping with Bree. Jon's still working in College Station.

Sweet girl teaching her brother to play with the Nintendo DS. I've been sick for the past three days. Terrible congestion and head/chest/throat pain. I think working so hard on the house and then being exposed to all of the dust/dander/pollen on the dusty trail of the safari finally go to me. I'm probably going to the Doc tomorrow while kids are at school.
Braden's "monkey bed". He loves his "monkey bankit".... It's so nice for him to be in a room that is NOT painted pink with "princess wallpaper". My Sweet Aunt Angie, who lives in San Antonio came by with my Uncle Paul to bring us dinner. She heard how sick I was over the phone and brought us pizza, a fruit tray, Cranberry juice, & Dr. Pepper. The kids thought that was SOOO COOL! Thank you so much Aunt Ang & Uncle Paul. It's so nice to live around family!!!

This is where we ate until we got our table, and this is our first NEW patio set. Finally have a deck to put one on, although I can tell you, the wind has been so strong we've seldom been able to eat without hair flying into our food or our food blowing away!
I finally found a pretty centerpiece. I broke the first one on the way out to the car, but the store very kindly replaced the hurricane vase for me. HINT>...to those with square tables - regular size placemats will NOT work, so you must get round ones. It took me 4 trips to the store to figure this out and get the right ones that will work that I like.

The Paul Frank "monkey" bathroom. It was already blue so I tried to find something to incorporate the blue into.
Okay, please, disregard the mess, since we've been here a little over a week. Here's a preview of what our house will look like. After we start teaching we'll probably give this couch to the kids in the gameroom and get us a new one with new coffee tables, but for now it will be extremely BEIGE. :-)

Last note, my Uncle Sonny died yesterday. His funeral is Friday and if you would all please be in prayer for my family. His children are taking it extremely hard. I'm too much under the weather to make the hour trip to the funeral, but he was such a wonderful Christian man. Uncle Sonny was my dad's sister's husband.
